In a continued celebration of Pure Goodness and Namibian dairy excellence, Namibia Dairies and Nammilk proudly marked Nammilk Day on 1 June, welcoming the start of Milk Month and reaffirming the importance of nourishing communities across the country.

What began as a milestone for one of Namibia’s most trusted dairy brands has grown into an annual tribute to resilience, progress and the shared journey of the local dairy industry.

Aligned to global Milk Month, June also provides an opportunity to reflect on the role of dairy in supporting nutrition, wellbeing and development. Under Nammilk’s “It’s What’s Inside” platform, the focus extends beyond product to purpose, highlighting how milk fuels growth, supports health and unlocks the potential within all of us, particularly children.

This year’s Milk Month builds on that philosophy by bringing the celebration closer to communities through meaningful, young person-centred experiences. As such, the focus of this year’s programme is the Nammilk & Cookies Tour, a fun and interactive school engagement initiative designed to inspire and connect with young minds. Taking the celebration on the road, the tour visited six primary schools across Windhoek, creating memorable moments through a simple yet powerful pairing; milk and cookies.

With the support of local bakers, learners were invited to experience creative cookie tastings, engage in interactive discussions and share their preferences and perspectives. The initiative was designed not only to entertain but to reinforce key messages around nutrition, creativity and self-expression, overall encouraging learners to explore their own potential in a supportive and engaging environment.

Commenting on the significance of Milk Month, Herman Theron, Acting Managing Director of Namibia Dairies, noted:

“At Namibia Dairies, we are proud to deliver fresh, locally produced milk that families can trust. Nammilk remains one of the best and healthiest choices for parents and young Namibians alike; providing essential nutrition that supports growth, development and overall wellbeing. Through initiatives such as Milk Month, we continue to reinforce the role of dairy in building stronger, healthier communities.”

Milk Month serves as a platform to extend this impact, ensuring that the benefits of dairy are not only understood, but experienced in ways that are accessible and engaging. We invite all Namibians to join us in celebrating Milk Month, recognising not only the goodness of milk, but the potential it helps unlock every day.

Happy Milk Month!
